Inverness FUN RUN - Promoted under concession from SAF - Open to ALL ages Please note: The Fun Run is not a certified event and therefore times and finish positions are not recorded. We will take entries for the Fun Run on the day up until 12 noon, strictly no entries after this time. The Fun Run (3.1 miles) will begin 10 minutes after the Half Marathon start. Click HERE to see the revised route. The start of the Fun Run will be on the road outside the entrance to Whin Park. All Fun Runners should congregate in this area at least 10 minutes prior to the start. Look out for the maps in the Sport Centre on Race Day. The first thing to remember is that this is a fun run and not a race. While someone has to be first (and last) every finisher will receive the same memento at the finish and the organisers hope that our three objectives for this run is met by all participants, these are: 1. To have fun; 2. To raise money for charity; 3. To get a bit of exercise! Safety, however, is always on our mind and we ask that all fun runners, especially the younger or unaccompanied entrants, observe the following rules. Please be at the start no later than 1.00pm. The Fun Run starts at 1.10 prompt. Do not push forward over the start line or try to anticipate the start signal. For safety reasons competitors failing to comply with the start line Marshall 's instructions may have their number removed and be disqualified from the run. Very small children, even if accompanied by adults, should start as near to the back of the starters as possible as there is always a high risk that there will be fallers in the first 200 metres or so after the start. Fun run entrants who enter before the race will have their running numbers posted to them and are NOT required to register on the day. (Entrants in the Half Marathon however must register and collect their running number and running chip between 10.00am and 12.15pm) There are coin operated lockers available for use in the Sports Centre, but do remember that non runners will also be using the Sports centre on the day so they will be at a premium. There will be an area available for leaving baggage, but this will be at your own risk. There are ample male and female changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities for use at the Sports Centre. While we will take every precaution to ensure the security of your belongings, the organisers and the management of the Sports Centre accept no responsibility whatsoever for loss or damage to any personal effects stored there and as such you are advised not to leave items of any value. ALL PERSONAL EFFECTS ARE LEFT AT YOUR OWN RISK Finally, all finishers will receive a memento and some goodies. - Contact us: Inverness Half Marathon |
