The Global Energy Inverness ½ Marathon’s 5K Team Attack challenge is back again – but this year it’s different. The event is now open for anyone to enter, and teams of four can comprise groups of friends, sports club members, family members, students, gym members or corporate teams from any business sector.
Organisers of the Global Energy Inverness ½ Marathon on Sunday, 17th March, have widened the line-up for this competitive race at what is one of the most popular events in the Scottish running calendar.
Three teams with the fastest cumulative 5K time – the fastest men’s, fastest women’s and fastest mixed teams – will be crowned winners and also stand to win some fantastic prizes.
Whilst most runners on the day will be setting themselves individual challenges to complete the Global Energy 5K Fun Run or ½ Marathon in a personal best, the new-look 5K Team Attack is set to bring out the more competitive spirit in friends, families and colleagues who choose to run as a team. And of course, the winning teams will be setting the standard to beat at future Team Attacks.
The event, which takes place in the heart of the Highland capital with runners competing along the banks of the picturesque River Ness and in the shadow of the city’s imposing castle, always delivers a well organised day with plenty of great atmosphere and fun.
Anyone wanting to take part in any of the races on the day – the Half Marathon, 5K Team Attack or 5K Fun Run – can enter online at www.invernesshalfmarathon.co.uk. Closing date for entries is Tuesday, 26th February.
